free and lacy.

So I have followed Lulu's idea and turned off my blog comments. Just for the moment. Just for a little experiment for myself. Funnily enough I already feel free from worrying about comments and the like.
I am sure I will turn them back on....as I already know I am going to miss what everyone has to say.
But it's always nice to take a little break.

And I am loving these Louboutin lace shoes. Only $1785 at Bergdorfs. Pshhh thats nothing.

millionaire

Jacket thing- Random store in New Jersey. Shirt-Forever 21. Harem Pants- Topshop. Shoes- yeah yeah I wore them a lot. Huge necklace- thrift store in England.

A few weekends ago my Mum and I ran into one of her friends in downtown Cleveland who is an avid photographer and he decided to take these pictures of me. They turned out great... so I wanted to give him a shout-out and say thank youuuuu!

Blazer, Croptop, Belt- Thrifted. Jeans-Rock and Republic. Shoes-Ralph Lauren.

Watching Slumdog Millionaire on HBO as I am typing this... the kind of crazy thing is that 10 weeks today I shall be on a plane to INDIAAAAAA. yes. i am quite excited. and that is an understatement. I love all the colours of India and I was thinking about that this morning when I picked out this crop-shirt that I recently picked up at a thrift store. Of course the weather is far too cold to wear a cropped shirt so I had to layer with not only a sweater but my trusty white blazer as well.

Also I have got a bunchhhh of vintage stuff for sale at my online store. This is one of the gorgeous items that is for sale.

the last of the blue shoes

'
Shirt-Vintage. Jeggings-HandM. Shoes-Michael Kors. Jacket-Ralph Lauren.

Even my mum has started to tease me about the amount of times I wear these shoes...and she is the queen of wearing things over again...so I am finally putting these in hibernation for a while. As comfy as they are my feet are getting cold in them. Hopefully the thigh-high boots I ordered last weekend will arrive sometime soon....

ungarooooo. s/s10.

So I am sitting in my kitchen BEFORE 7AM eating my cinnamon toast crunch with soymilk and thinking about the Ungaro Show. Yes that is how wierd/possessed I am. While everyone else is snuggled up cozily in their bed, I am sitting here wondering how I truly feel about the show that caused so much controversy yesterday in Paris and has been a hot topic since Lohan was appointed creative director about three weeks ago. I remember when I first heard that Lohan had been assigned this job and I along with the rest of the world, well at least people who had heard of Ungaro before, sniggered and thought ooo cant wait to see this! Except not in the excited, I can't wait to see how much this inspires me way, but more in the yes just another reason to bring Lohan down and feel better about myself kind of way. This all happens subconciously of course but never the less is pretty much what the whole fashion industry was thinking. Now I admit that everyone has good reason to expect a trainwreck from the trainwreck of Lilo but I still can't help wondering if people would have been a bit nicer to the show that debuted yesterday if Lohan's name had not been attached to it.
Ungaro has always been known {and loved}  for its bold use of colours and the mixing of patterns and drape-like pieces. At least on these fronts this season proved to be no different. There was the gorgeous shades of hot pink that have been seen all over the runways in the past four weeks. There was the mixing of patterns, my favourite being the mix of a heart printed skirt and a white shirt with what looks like birds on it. While the collection definitely is focused on the party girl image that Lohan is so well known for, its not a look that doesn't appeal to ANY other people.
I am totally rambling but while the show wasn't mind-blowing and obviously wasn't something that is going to be influencing fashion for the rest of eternity. I think the problem that the "fashion industry" had with the collection was that it just seemed to real. These pieces are what teenagers/20 year olds wear on a night out, {hopefully they add a shirt under their blazers} but when I look at these outfits I just see a dress that one of my friends would wear or a skirt that I would like. The only difference is the price.
I know I am going against what all the "fashion people" are saying, maybe its the fact that I am learning all about rebellions in history, but maybe the problem with this collection is the fact that its something more real and "normal" in a fashion week where everything is created to surprise you.

Just a 7 am thought.

she sells seashells on the sea shore

Jacket and Shirt- Thrifted. Jeans- Gap. Boots- Forget.

I found this little jacket while thrifting a couple of weeks ago and I was finally able to whip it out today because the temperature has dropped sooo much. so not ready for the arctic climate that is to come. You can't really tell on these pictures but the jacket buttons are actually seashell shaped, i think it just adds so much more to a piece when you have some unusual accents like that. its also really well shaped and structured so it pulls my ,"i roll out of bed and picked these things up from the floor" look that i tend to sport to school each day, together. These motorcycle boots were one of my favorites last year and i feel like they are here to stay this winter as well. bright pink= my favourite trend of spring/summer 10. so im glad that i picked up this bright pink silk shirt a couple of weekends ago.

happy friday everyone :)
